Tanmiah Food Company has signed two strategic agreements with the National Grain Supply Company (SABIL) and its wholly owned subsidiary, the National Grain Company (NGC), aimed at strengthening the company’s sourcing and in-Kingdom storage of feed grains for its poultry operations.
The agreements were announced on 20 October 2026 at the 43rd Saudi Agriculture Exhibition in Riyadh, held under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
Dedicated storage and operational services via SABIL
Under the agreement with SABIL, Tanmiah will receive dedicated grain storage at SABIL’s Al-Kharj facility. The scope described in the announcement includes receiving services, joint quality inspection, inventory management, and dispatch services.
The facility is intended to allow Tanmiah to receive its share of each cargo and draw down supplies in line with production needs, with the company stating that the process will include “full traceability from receipt to dispatch.”
SABIL is wholly owned by the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company.
Joint sourcing and hedging approach with NGC
The second agreement, involving NGC, is designed to support Tanmiah’s grain procurement. Tanmiah and NGC will jointly procure vessel cargoes of feed grains and, according to the announcement, hedge exposure in international commodity markets.
The release states that sharing cargoes could provide Tanmiah with access to bulk freight economics and greater consistency in feed quality, while drawing on NGC’s international sourcing expertise. It also says volumes are expected to increase in phases as the partnership develops.
Statements from the companies
Tanmiah said the agreements are intended to improve resilience in its feed supply chain and provide greater visibility on feed costs and continuity for its poultry operations.
Zulfiqar Hamadani, Group CEO of Tanmiah Food Company, said the agreements “transform the way we procure grain,” describing benefits as extending through the production cycle, from procurement and feed conversion to reducing waste. He also pointed to a partnership with SALIC’s companies as aligned with food security goals under Saudi Vision 2030.
Abdulrahman bin Saud Al-Owais, CEO of SABIL, described the deal as a step in implementing SABIL’s strategy, citing expansion and growth through the use of its logistics assets. He said that deploying storage capacity alongside NGC capabilities, with ownership of NGC described as having transferred to SABIL, supports logistics solutions across sourcing, handling, storage, transport and distribution. He added that the partnership with Tanmiah reflects SABIL’s intent to broaden services for the goods manufacturing sector.
