Mubadala Bio has signed a strategic partnership with Marcyrl Pharmaceutical Industries, known as Marcyrl Group, aimed at localizing a portfolio of women’s health, fertility and respiratory products in the United Arab Emirates, according to the companies.
The agreement was signed at the Future Health Summit in Abu Dhabi on 21 October 2026. Mubadala Bio’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Essam Mohamed, and Marcyrl Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr. George Saad, signed the deal.
Localization plans for women’s health, fertility and respiratory therapies
The companies said the partnership will support the localization and distribution in the UAE of two therapy portfolios.
Women’s health and fertility: Mubadala Bio and Marcyrl Group stated that the portfolio will include women’s health and fertility medicines intended to support stages of reproductive health, from fertility and pregnancy through childbirth, as well as treatments for common gynecological and hormonal conditions.
Respiratory: The respiratory portfolio is described as targeting a range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. The companies listed product forms including metered dose inhalers, dry powder inhalers, nebulization solutions and nasal sprays.
They added that both portfolios will be localized and distributed in the UAE, with further products expected to be added over time.
Company statements
In remarks attributed to Dr. Essam Mohamed, Mubadala Bio said localizing pharmaceutical products is central to building a resilient life sciences ecosystem in the UAE. The company described women’s health as a priority therapy area and said partnering with Marcyrl, which also includes respiratory medicines, would help localize a broader set of products and expand access across the UAE.
Dr. George Saad, speaking on behalf of Marcyrl Group, said the partnership is intended to expand access to essential medicines in the UAE and across the GCC. Marcyrl said it would combine its manufacturing expertise in women’s health, fertility and respiratory care with Mubadala Bio’s regional platform to advance localization, strengthen healthcare resilience, and improve patient access to treatments.
Broader life sciences capability push
The companies said the agreement supports Mubadala Bio’s broader efforts to strengthen local pharmaceutical capabilities and expand access to priority therapies, as well as contribute to an integrated life sciences ecosystem in the UAE.
Mubadala Bio described itself as a life sciences company focused on improving health outcomes for the UAE and beyond. Marcyrl Group said it is one of Egypt’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturers, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Cairo, with strengths in hormonal and respiratory therapies and a focus on women’s health and fertility treatment.
