Arab Bank Group has announced financial results for the first nine months of 2026, reporting net profit after tax of USD 902 million, compared with USD 818 million for the same period last year, according to the bank.
The group said it achieved the increase of 10% by leveraging its capabilities and geographic footprint amid what it described as a rapidly changing regional and international operating environment.
Balance sheet and loan growth
Arab Bank Group reported steady and “well-balanced” growth on its balance sheet, stating that total assets rose by 5% to reach USD 81 billion. The bank attributed the increase to growth in lending activities and an expanding customer base.
It said its loan portfolio increased by 4% to USD 42.5 billion, while customer deposits grew by 6% to USD 59.3 billion. The group linked the figures to what it described as a solid financial position and the ability to maintain balanced and sustainable growth.
Chairman: performance amid uncertainty
Commenting on the results, Sabih Masri, Chairman of Arab Bank, said the group’s performance shows “continued ability” to deliver positive results across key business areas. In the bank’s statement, Masri described the results as being driven by a balanced approach combining sustainable growth with prudent risk management, supported by pillars including a wide geographic presence, diversified revenue sources, disciplined risk management, and commitment to digital transformation and innovation.
Masri also said the results were achieved against a backdrop of geopolitical challenges in the region and the world, along with ongoing uncertainty affecting the business environment both regionally and globally.
CEO highlights fee income, asset quality and liquidity
Randa Sadik, Chief Executive Officer of Arab Bank, said the first nine months of 2026 confirm the bank’s ability to grow and generate sustainable results across business lines.
She pointed to an 11% increase in non-interest income, describing it as reflecting the bank’s strategy to build diverse revenue sources and reduce reliance on traditional interest margins. Sadik also emphasized asset quality and financial strength, stating that the bank maintained stable non-performing loan ratios and achieved provision coverage levels exceeding 100%.
According to the announcement, Arab Bank’s capital adequacy ratio under Basel III guidelines reached 17.4%, which it said is above the minimum requirement set by the Central Bank of Jordan. The group also reported that it maintained high liquidity levels, with a loans-to-deposits ratio of 72%.
Digital and AI transformation update
Sadik further said the bank’s digital and AI transformation strategy is progressing steadily, with increased adoption of advanced technologies integrated into core banking operations. The statement said the work includes redesigning the digital customer experience, automating internal processes, and enhancing analytical capabilities for risk management, alongside launching digital services intended to add value for customers.
