Biotech Shares Surge To 52-Week Highs: Cdna, Gral, Twst Lead Gains

Shares in several U.S.-listed biotechnology and health technology companies surged to 52-week highs on Thursday, as investors reacted to a mix of regulatory progress, expanded reimbursement, clinical and guideline momentum, and raised financial outlooks.

    Key takeaways

    • CareDx shares hit a 52-week high and climbed more than 13% after the company said Medicare coverage was granted for its transplant rejection tests.
    • Grail stock rose more than 15% to a 52-week peak following a favorable FDA advisory panel recommendation for its multi-cancer early detection test.
    • Adaptive Biotechnologies gained over 6% at a 52-week high, supported by NCCN guideline recognition for its minimal residual disease test in multiple myeloma.
    • Revvity added about 6% and touched a 52-week high after reporting second-quarter results and raising full-year revenue guidance.
    • Twist Bioscience jumped more than 16% to a 52-week high after announcing an Eli Lilly TuneLab collaboration to support AI-driven antibody discovery.

    What drove the move

CareDx rose to a 52-week high of $63.09, increasing more than 13% during Thursday trading. The company said it recently received Medicare coverage for its AlloSure, AlloMap, and AlloSeq systems, which use molecular testing to help assess the likelihood of allograft rejection after kidney, heart, or lung transplants. The company also cited corporate developments, including completing the acquisition of Naveris and selling its Lab Products business to Eurobio Scientific. On the fundamentals side, CareDx reported second-quarter revenue of $132 million, up 52% year over year, and placed full-year 2026 revenue estimates between $490 million and $500 million, above the $380 million recorded in 2025.

Grail was another standout. Shares climbed more than 15% to a 52-week high of $126.81, following a positive recommendation from the Molecular and Clinical Genetics Devices Panel of the FDA’s Medical Devices Advisory Committee for the company’s Galeri multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test. Grail said it expects an FDA premarket approval decision in the coming months. For investors, the panel endorsement is a key step in the regulatory pathway for next-generation cancer screening technologies, where timing and decision outcomes often drive volatility.

Adaptive Biotechnologies added more than 6% to reach a new 52-week high of $29.58. The move was supported by clinical and market-access momentum, including recognition from the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology. NCCN recommended the company’s MRD test for the early detection of multiple myeloma. Adaptive’s financial profile also remains a driver: its MRD segment accounted for 92% of second-quarter revenue, totaling $71.6 million. The company forecast full-year revenues between $268 million and $278 million, implying estimated growth of 26% to 31%.

    Market reaction and company updates

Revvity touched a 52-week high of $152.26 and ended the day up 6%. The rally followed a second-quarter report showing revenue of $730 million, described as pro forma growth of 4%. Revvity also lifted its outlook, raising full-year revenue guidance to $2.83 billion to $2.86 billion, pointing to potential pro forma growth of 4% to 5%. Beyond financial results, the company recently launched SuperFlex prenatal testing services and expanded coverage for its preeclampsia diagnostics. Revvity also continued efforts to advance its T-SPOT.TB tuberculosis test on an automated platform for clinical labs.

Twist Bioscience advanced more than 16% to a 52-week high of $185.22. The company’s momentum followed last week’s announcement of a collaboration with Eli Lilly’s TuneLab intended to facilitate discovery of new therapeutic antibodies using artificial intelligence and machine learning. Twist also markets products and services spanning clonal gene offerings, virus controls for liquid biopsies, and preparation and fragmentation kits for microbial genetic testing, which can broaden demand across research, diagnostics, and discovery workflows.

What analysts will focus on next

With multiple stocks tied to regulatory milestones, coverage expansion, and updated guidance, investors are likely to prioritize near-term catalysts. For Grail, the key question is timing and outcome of the FDA’s decision on premarket approval for its Galeri MCED test. For CareDx and Adaptive, continued adoption of reimbursed or guideline-supported testing will be central to sustaining revenue momentum. Meanwhile, Revvity’s raised outlook sets a higher bar for subsequent quarters, while Twist’s AI-enabled antibody discovery partnership will be monitored for evidence of progress and commercial traction.

Looking ahead, market attention will also turn to additional biotech and health-tech catalysts, including upcoming earnings reports and regulatory updates, as well as broader macro drivers that can influence risk appetite in growth and healthcare equities.
