Saur Group says it has reached a health and safety milestone on its operations and maintenance contract with Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC), reporting 30 million safe man-hours across the Eastern Cluster.
The company said the figure was recognized at a ceremony hosted by NWC on 29 October 2026. Saur Middle East chief executive Christophe Tanguy and Sébastien Terol, general manager of The Eastern Cluster, were presented with an award for the achievement, according to the announcement.
Award presented by NWC leadership
The award was presented by Dr. Fouad bin Ahmed Al Sheikh Mubarak, CEO of NWC; Eng. Hamad Al-Qahtani, deputy CEO of NWC; and Eng. Adel bin Jamaan Alghamdi, head of Eastern Cluster at NWC.
Saur said the contract covers Dammam, Al Khobar and Jubail, as well as the wider Eastern Province.
Company links the result to QHSE practices
In comments accompanying the release, Tanguy said achieving 30 million safe man-hours “reflects the dedication of our teams and the strong safety culture embedded across our operations.” The company attributed the result to what it described as its Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) practices, including employee training, field safety engagements, operational procedures, technical inspections, risk management, emergency preparedness and continuous performance monitoring.
Saur also said the contract work is carried out alongside partners Miahona and Manila Water Company, and it referenced “close collaboration” with NWC and its international water partners as part of the effort.
Context: Vision 2030 and water infrastructure
The company said it remains committed to maintaining what it called “the highest standards of workplace safety” as Saudi Arabia develops its water infrastructure under Vision 2030. Saur added that the milestone is intended to reflect operational excellence and a safety culture designed so that employees “return home safely, every day,” while supporting what it described as safe, resilient and efficient water operations.
