Monetary Metals said it has completed a gold lease financing transaction for Kavitha Gold and Diamonds, LLC, supporting the jeweler’s showroom inventory as it scales its presence across the United Arab Emirates into 2027.
The company said the lease finances Kavitha’s jewelry inventory for its planned expansion, adding to Kavitha’s current UAE operations. According to the announcement, Kavitha is a regional jewelry retailer founded in 1976 in South India, operating 12 showrooms across India and two showrooms in Dubai and Sharjah, with further expansion planned through 2027.
How the lease is structured
Monetary Metals described the arrangement as a true gold lease, in which clients retain title to the metal throughout the term. The company also said each ounce is protected by tamper-evident RFID tracking and supported by daily inventory reporting from TJS Inc., described in the release as an asset assurance provider that was recently acquired by Monetary Metals.
The release stated that because Kavitha would be leasing gold rather than purchasing it outright or borrowing under conventional debt, the company expects to avoid gold price exposure associated with those alternatives. Monetary Metals also said the structure is intended to help businesses preserve liquidity for retail growth by funding inventory needs without tying up cash.
UAE presence and company claims
Monetary Metals said the deal adds Kavitha to its roster of jewelry clients in the UAE. The company also referenced earlier 2026 transactions, stating it completed deals with Jawhara Jewellers (15,515 oz, c.$80m) and Bhima Group (13,500 oz, c.$60m) before this new lease completion.
In commentary included with the announcement, Keith Weiner, CEO and founder of Monetary Metals, said Kavitha can use a gold lease to stock new showrooms with physical gold without taking on price risk and while avoiding the “traditional debt financing” burden. Weiner added that the company’s model is designed so that clients’ gold can earn a yield that is paid in gold.
Prasad Thozhuthu Parambil, a director at Kavitha, said the financing option was at the top of its list when preparing for new Dubai showrooms. Parambil said Monetary Metals demonstrated an understanding of the jeweler’s industry and characterized the firm as a reliable regional partner, adding that Kavitha expects to continue working with Monetary Metals as it funds its expansion into 2027.
