The inaugural Dubai Future Finance Week, led by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), continued on 3 November 2026 with a day two programme spanning sustainability-focused finance discussions, private capital themes and applications of space-derived data, according to DIFC and event partners.
Sustainability and transition finance in focus
Under the theme Shaping Greener Economies, DIFC said the Future Sustainability Forum brought together senior leaders from finance, policy and industry to discuss transition finance models, climate adaptation capital and long-term value creation.
The forum covered topics including green and transition finance, ESG integration and reporting, and sustainable investment strategies such as impact investing and climate-tech venture capital. DIFC also said the agenda addressed climate risk, data and financial technology, along with public-private collaboration aligned with the UAE Net Zero 2050 goals.
DIFC also confirmed that the 29 founding partners of its 1 Million Learners initiative have collectively reached more than 130,000 learners in 2026. DIFC said the programme launched in May 2025 as part of the DIFC Sustainable Finance Catalyst, with an aim to equip one million people with knowledge of sustainability and sustainable finance by 2030.
To move toward what DIFC described as evidence of outcomes, the centre said it is developing a Total Impact Framework for the initiative. DIFC said the work will include a Theory of Change, impact areas and core indicators across economic, social, environmental and governance value, supported by tools to collect and report impact data consistently. DIFC said it expects this to culminate in a report on the programme’s contribution to socio-economic progress and sustainability.
DIFC Chief Operating Officer Alya Al Zarouni said in a statement that sustainability is increasingly integral to financial services competitiveness and that DIFC’s focus is shifting toward measuring outcomes and value created by its partnerships and initiatives. DIFC did not provide additional independent validation of the quoted figures in the release.
Private markets and capital deployment themes
DIFC said day two also featured private markets and capital deployment discussion through the inaugural edition of IPEM Future in Dubai. DIFC described the event as gathering private equity, private credit and institutional investors using a TV studio format with a live audience, focusing on long-term capital formation and GP-LP alignment across alternative asset classes.
The programme also included Capital Exchange through the Collab GP-LP Programme, which DIFC said provides a platform for general partners and limited partners to align on allocation priorities, fund strategies and institutional co-investment models.
Other elements on the day included InsureTek Middle East, and DIFC said this evening leaders from the finance industry were set to gather for the MENA Banking Excellence Awards, recognising excellence in corporate and investment banking.
Space-derived data and AI showcased
DIFC said the DIFC Innovation Hub highlighted progress on Space for Earth Labs, a platform established with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) to apply space-derived data and artificial intelligence to commercial and public-sector challenges.
According to DIFC, the platform’s inaugural programme, the Geospatial Accelerator, is delivered with programme partner RELM Insurance. DIFC said the accelerator received 73 applications from 24 countries and matched international scale-ups with five UAE public and private sector organisations, including Buro Happold, Dubai Civil Defence, FADA (part of EDGE Group), Liva Insurance and the National Maritime Navigation Centre.
DIFC stated that the selected teams are developing proof-of-concept pilots across maritime safety, insurance, the built environment and public safety, with pilots presented at the Dubai AI Festival in October.
Programme continues through 6 November
DIFC said Dubai Future Finance Week continues through Friday 6 November 2026, with further forums and executive dialogues scheduled to cover topics including banking excellence, Islamic finance, family wealth, tokenisation and digital assets.
