XRP has shed 3% of its value in the last 24 hours and trades around $1.30, as the broader cryptocurrency market retraced gains posted earlier this week.

Ripple announced the launch of Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury within Ripple Treasury on Wednesday, a move designed to embed digital-asset capabilities into core corporate finance functions. The rollout introduces the first treasury management system with native digital asset support, directly integrated into the treasury workflow. In a press release, Ripple described the offering as a unique capability that could become a competitive edge for its treasury clients by seamlessly managing both fiat and digital liquidity in a single platform.

Retail and institutional demand for XRP has weakened in recent sessions. Data from CoinGlass show XRP spot ETFs shed 981,000 XRP on Wednesday, the second outflow of the week. US-listed ETFs experienced outflows totaling $2.3 million on Monday. Cumulative inflows have steadied at $1.21 billion, while net assets under management have declined to around $944 million from the record $1.65 billion on January 1. Retail demand has also cooled, while XRP futures open interest has fallen to $2.37 billion, down from $2.54 billion on Wednesday. OI earlier peaked at a record $10.94 billion in July, coinciding with an all-time high price of $3.66.

    Key takeaways

    • XRP trading around $1.30 after a roughly 3% daily drop.
    • Catalyst: Ripple’s Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury bring native digital asset functionality into a treasury management system.
    • Market dynamics: ETF outflows and waning open interest point to tepid demand from both retail and institutional investors.
    • Implication: The chart remains biased to the downside with near-term resistance at $1.37 and support near $1.29; a daily close above $1.42 could ease bearish pressure.

    What drove the move

The primary driver cited is Ripple’s strategic push to expand its treasury capabilities. The new Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury integrate fiat and digital liquidity management within Ripple Treasury, allowing treasurers to view, hold, receive and manage both currencies within a single platform. Ripple stated the integration eliminates the need for multiple platforms, reconciliation workflows and manual consolidation, addressing a historically cited hurdle to corporate adoption of digital assets.

That push comes amid broader industry dynamics: demand signals for XRP have cooled in recent sessions, as evidenced by ETF outflows and a retreat in open interest among XRP futures. The combination of growing corporate interest in digital-liquidity solutions and thinning speculative exposure helps explain the latest price action.

    Market reaction

Technically, XRP’s four-hour chart is among the more bearish views within the top cryptocurrencies. The token trades around $1.31 with a neutral-to-bearish near-term bias. It has failed to clear resistance around $1.43, and a cluster of moving averages (50-, 100- and 200-day) sits well above price, signaling a broader downtrend in the near term. The MACD remains below the signal line on the four-hour chart, and the RSI around 47 indicates limited upside momentum.

The market has shown signs of consolidation around a critical level. If bulls regain control, immediate resistance sits at $1.37, followed by the $1.40–$1.43 band that has capped recent rallies. A daily close above $1.42 would ease bearish pressure and open a path toward the $1.45–$1.52 area. On the downside, key supports are at $1.33 and last week’s swing low near $1.30, with a break of that level potentially exposing the $1.25 handle. For now, the market has held around $1.29, a screen level that has been notable as a near-term support in recent sessions.

    Bigger picture

The XRP backdrop remains a function of two competing forces: corporate adoption of digital assets and the broader risk environment for crypto assets. The latest data show thinning retail and institutional interest even as Ripple pushes deeper into treasury operations. The decline in XRP futures open interest from its July peak reinforces a cautious stance among risk-tolerant investors, even as some corporates explore digital-liquidity solutions.

Trading sentiment also tracks macro developments, including liquidity conditions and policy expectations that influence risk assets. While Ripple has not signaled any imminent catalysts, shifts in macro momentum or regulatory clarity could steer XRP’s trajectory in the near term.

Investors will monitor whether XRP can defend the $1.29 support level and how flows evolve in XRP ETFs and futures markets. The next catalysts could stem from broader market dynamics or any updates from Ripple on the uptake of its treasury services.
