Uniswap Uni Jumps 18% This Week As Traders Reassess Risk
Uniswap Uni Jumps 18% This Week As Traders Reassess Risk

Uniswap’s UNI token surged more than 9% over the past 24 hours, reclaiming the $4 level and extending its weekly gain to around 18%. The rally coincided with a new Uniswap Labs product release aimed at making token discovery easier inside the company’s own web interface—while governance changes that strengthened protocol token economics also continued to draw attention from buyers.

    Key takeaways

    • Price move: UNI jumped more than 9% in the last day and is up about 18% for the week.
    • Catalyst: Uniswap launched “Launches,” a token discovery hub integrated into the Uniswap Web App.
    • Protocol support: Governance recently expanded the protocol fee mechanism to v4 pools and Robinhood Chain, with revenue tied to UNI buyback-and-burn via TokenJar.
    • Market implication: Traders are treating the $4 area as a key support level, with multiple overhead technical hurdles clustered near higher Fibonacci and moving-average zones.

    What drove the UNI rally

According to Uniswap Labs, the immediate trigger was the launch of Launches, a token discovery feature built directly into the Uniswap Web App. Rather than users needing to monitor separate launch platforms, Launches consolidates new token listings into a single interface and includes filters such as launchpad, liquidity, trading volume, trending status, and recent listings.

The rollout begins on Robinhood Chain. Uniswap Labs said more than 340,000 token launches and $3.6 billion in trading volume were recorded during July on that chain, with additional Layer 2 networks and blockchains planned later.

Uniswap Labs also positioned the update as a way to keep more trading activity inside its ecosystem by bringing token discovery into its core application rather than routing users outward to other interfaces.

How governance and revenue mechanics fed demand

The product launch arrived shortly after governance proposals strengthened Uniswap’s token economics. The protocol’s governance approved an expansion of the protocol fee mechanism to v4 pools and Robinhood Chain, with 97% support, and directed part of protocol revenue toward buying and burning UNI through TokenJar smart contracts.

Data cited from DeFiLlama indicated that Uniswap generated roughly $5.2 million in protocol fees over a 24-hour period earlier this month, with Robinhood Chain accounting for about $4.4 million of that figure. The report also noted that trading activity has remained strong since Robinhood Chain launched on July 1, including Uniswap crossing $1 billion in cumulative trading volume on the chain within nine days of launch.

Additional attention came from UNI buyback-and-burn activity. Market participants pointed to a $2.2 million TokenJar transaction described as the largest UNI buyback-and-burn event since late 2025, reinforcing the link between protocol revenue and supply reduction.

Market reaction and what to watch next

Analysts and traders interpreted UNI’s move as a validation of a technical setup that was forming earlier in the week. According to a prior Invezz analysis, the $4.05 to $4.10 area had been identified as near-term resistance. UNI’s Friday advance took the token decisively above that zone, turning the former ceiling into a potential support area.

Inveszz also reported that UNI reached roughly $4.46, its highest level in around six months. Technical commentary suggested that the next upswing may face clustered hurdles tied to Fibonacci retracement levels near $4.94 to $5.15, and that a move through that zone could expose a previous swing high near $5.49, assuming buying volume continues to expand.

On momentum, the daily RSI was described as still near the midpoint (around 50), implying there was room for further upside before the token enters conditions that are commonly viewed as overbought. Traders also noted that UNI has reclaimed the 20-day and 50-day moving averages while remaining above the 100-day average, with the 200-day moving average near $5.09 cited as the next major resistance level.

Looking ahead, the immediate focus remains whether UNI can hold above the reclaimed $4.00 support zone. If the rally attracts profit-taking after a sharp advance, traders may look to the prior breakout area around $4.05 to $4.10 and nearby moving averages for signs of demand. A daily close above the identified overhead region (roughly $4.80 to $5.10, based on a Volume Profile Visible Range cluster) would likely strengthen the recovery structure.

Beyond UNI, market participants will also be watching the rollout of Launches to additional chains and whether Uniswap’s fee-and-burn mechanism continues to translate into sustained protocol revenue growth. Future catalysts may include governance follow-through on infrastructure expansions and continued execution around v4 infrastructure and compliance-oriented market-making tools.
