Solana Climbs On Shinhan Deal As $80 Dip Tests Bullish Momentum
Solana Climbs On Shinhan Deal As $80 Dip Tests Bullish Momentum

Solana’s SOL token moved little, hovering near the $83 level on Thursday as bulls tried to sustain a broader crypto market bounce following Wednesday’s dip. The token traded around $83.39 in early session trade, with daily volume above $4.6 billion.

According to Invezz, a string of integrations and partnerships is helping to lift the narrative around Solana, including a strategic collaboration between Shinhan Card and the Solana Foundation aimed at advancing stablecoin payments on the high‑speed blockchain. The firms signed a memorandum of understanding to tap Solana’s infrastructure for real‑world payments between customers and merchants, building on a successful proof‑of‑concept completed last year and targeting an enhanced PoC later this year.

The broader development slate is notable for its potential to embed stablecoins into everyday financial activity. Shinhan’s move comes as Visa expanded its own stablecoin settlement pilot to nine blockchains, including Polygon, Base, and Canton Network, signaling increasing cross‑border and cross‑institution adoption. Invesse notes that the Solana project now sits alongside other major pushes to broaden stablecoin use. Separately, Meta has added support for USDC payments on Solana, extending the network’s reach to content creators in Colombia and the Philippines. These steps collectively underscore a growing push to scale stablecoin payments on fast, scalable networks.

    Solana price outlook

The SOL token reached a high near $88 on April 26 but retraced alongside Bitcoin as macro and geopolitical headwinds intensified. The pullback toward the $80s coincided with Bitcoin slipping to below $75,000 after the U.S. central bank’s decision to hold rates. Bitcoin later traded back above $76,000 while SOL was testing the $84 area.

From a sentiment perspective, Santiment analysts have highlighted Solana’s and Bitcoin’s role in driving social media activity, noting that both assets have attracted a high level of FOMO across platforms such as X, Reddit, and Telegram. The firm’s latest read suggested a persistent tilt toward bullish commentary for SOL, though experts caution that price moves can diverge from crowd expectations and risk appetite can shift quickly if upside momentum fades.

Technically, Solana faces a nuanced chart: a bearish bias remains while the price holds beneath a key ceiling near the 50‑day moving average, which sits around $86. A sustained push above that level could open a path toward $100, according to traditional momentum readings. On the downside, a break below the $80 support could open a route toward $73, with February’s $67 trough still in the memory of traders.

Data shows that SOL’s current price action comes after a period when investors weighed adoption news against broader risk assets’ sensitivity to macro signals. The latest partnership announcements reinforce the narrative that Solana could gain enduring utility if the stablecoin and real‑world payments story solidifies, particularly as regulatory clarity around digital currencies improves.
