Robinhood Shares Rise As It Rolls Out Ai Crypto Tools And Expands Globally

Robinhood shares jumped 8% on Wednesday after the online brokerage unveiled new product features tied to cryptocurrency trading and accelerated plans to expand outside the United States. The announcements—shared during an event in London—centered on AI-enabled crypto trading tools for U.S. customers and new derivatives and market-expansion steps in Europe and Asia.

Investors appeared to reward the company’s push to broaden revenue streams beyond traditional brokerage activity, as Robinhood added functionality across its crypto platform and expanded its footprint toward additional international markets.

    Key takeaways

    • Price move: Robinhood shares rose 8% following Wednesday’s announcements.
    • Catalyst: New AI-powered cryptocurrency trading capabilities for U.S. customers and steps to scale perpetual futures in Europe.
    • Key implication: The company is positioning for growth through expanded crypto offerings, tokenized asset products, and international brokerage services.
    • Another implication: Product rollouts span AI, lending, and blockchain initiatives, suggesting Robinhood is widening its toolkit for generating customer activity.

    What drove the move

In the United States, Robinhood introduced what it described as agentic cryptocurrency trading at no additional cost. The feature allows customers to connect their own AI agents to the brokerage platform so those agents can execute crypto trades on their behalf. Robinhood said the launch builds on its prior rollout of agentic trading for stocks and options introduced last month.

The company also announced Robinhood Earn for eligible U.S. customers, a lending service that enables users to lend a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin, USDG, using a self-custody wallet. Robinhood said the lending infrastructure is powered by Morpho, a decentralized lending network.

Beyond trading and lending, Robinhood expanded its blockchain strategy. It launched the main network for Robinhood Chain, aimed at supporting real-world assets. The company also introduced tokenized stocks that eligible customers can trade around the clock on Robinhood Chain, while noting that stock tokens are not available in the United States or to U.S. customers.

    Market reaction and international expansion

Alongside the U.S. product releases, Robinhood highlighted geographic growth initiatives focused on Europe and Asia. In the European Union, it expanded its range of perpetual futures contracts, enabling eligible customers to trade contracts linked to commodities, selected currencies, and exchange-traded funds, including gold, silver, and Invesco’s Nasdaq-100 tracking QQQ ETF.

Robinhood said the perpetual futures offering differs from traditional futures contracts because perpetual contracts do not expire, allowing investors to hold positions longer-term. The update adds to the breadth of derivatives exposure available to European customers, potentially increasing trading engagement across additional product types.

In Singapore, Robinhood said it received a capital markets services licence, a step that it said brings the company closer to launching brokerage services in the country. In Canada, the company is expanding its crypto offering following its acquisition of digital asset platform WonderFi, and said Canadian customers will receive zero crypto trading fees through Sept. 30.

Robinhood also disclosed plans to launch cryptocurrency services in the United Kingdom. The company’s crypto and international general manager, Johann Kerbrat, said it is excited about the U.K. rollout because—until now—only brokerage products had been available.

    What analysts are watching

Analysts pointed to the breadth of Robinhood’s product pipeline as evidence that the company is working to diversify beyond its core brokerage business. According to a Zacks report, Robinhood was the top-performing finance stock during the second quarter of 2026, supported by stronger retail trading activity and continued growth across equities, options, cryptocurrencies, and prediction markets.

Zacks also cited Robinhood’s efforts to diversify through AI-powered trading, wealth management, prediction markets, and payment products. The report described these initiatives as potential contributors to future revenue growth as the company builds more customer touchpoints.

On expectations, Zacks said consensus earnings estimates for 2026 and 2027 increased to $1.81 and $2.45 per share, respectively. While earnings are expected to decline 11.7% this year, forecasts call for growth of 35.2% in 2027.

Meanwhile, TipRanks data reflected favorable street positioning, with 16 of 19 analysts rating Robinhood shares a Buy and the remaining three recommending Hold—an indication that, despite near-term uncertainty, many analysts remain comfortable with the direction of the expansion strategy.

    Bigger picture

Wednesday’s rally followed a series of initiatives that connect customer activity to multiple parts of Robinhood’s ecosystem: AI-driven trading tools, lending tied to a stablecoin product, tokenized asset infrastructure, and broader international availability for trading and brokerage services. The expansion into perpetual futures and additional jurisdictions also increases the potential addressable market for Robinhood’s crypto and brokerage offerings.

Looking ahead, investors are likely to focus on execution—particularly how quickly Robinhood converts new product availability into measurable customer growth and trading engagement—and on any regulatory or rollout milestones in the regions it is targeting next.

Key items to watch include further updates on the rollout of agentic trading and Robinhood Chain products, progress toward launching brokerage services in new markets, and upcoming earnings and macro data that could influence retail trading volumes and risk appetite.
