    MAHE Dubai and Fluid Codes move to simulation-led engineering training

    Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Dubai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fluid Codes, a Dubai-based Ansys channel partner, to establish a Centre of Excellence for engineering design and simulation. The initiative is designed to bring industry-grade multiphysics tools into academic learning across MAHE Dubai’s engineering ecosystem, with an emphasis on practical training, faculty development, and industry-linked research.

    The Centre of Excellence, referred to in the announcement as the MAHE Dubai x Fluid Codes Centre of Excellence, is positioned as a structured platform for curriculum integration, capstone projects, and professional training pathways. It is also intended to strengthen collaboration between the university and UAE engineering firms that rely on simulation in product development cycles.

    Why Ansys simulation matters for engineering programs

    Engineering simulations are increasingly used by manufacturers and technology companies to reduce design risk, shorten development timelines, and improve product performance before physical prototypes are built. In the press release, Ansys is described as a widely used engineering simulation suite spanning multiple disciplines, with modelling capabilities relevant to sectors such as aerospace, automotive, energy, electronics, healthcare, and manufacturing.

The programme is also expected to include professional workshops, competitions, and regional technical events, along with certification pathways tied to workshop participation.

    The announcement further states that the Centre will draw on MAHE Dubai’s high-performance computing capacity and a dedicated simulation laboratory infrastructure. This matters because advanced simulation workflows can require substantial compute resources, particularly for multiphysics modelling and large design iterations.

    Training modules across engineering disciplines

    Fluid Codes is expected to deliver structured training focused on multiple Ansys platforms used in engineering workflows. The release specifically references workshops using Ansys CFD, Ansys Mechanical for structural simulation, and Ansys Electronics Desktop, including HFSS and Maxwell. These training tracks are aimed at both teaching delivery and practical skills development for students and faculty.

    Beyond technical workshops, the Centre of Excellence includes support elements such as faculty-led training sessions, simulation best-practice workshops, and emerging technology updates. Yaqoob Al Ali, Executive Director and Private Advisor in the Office of His Highness Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, according to the announcement. The release also references participation from MAHE Dubai leadership, Fluid Codes representatives, faculty members, students, and additional industry and sustainability leaders.
