Dubai Launches “win Your Home” Giveaway, First Winner Announced
Dubai Launches “win Your Home” Giveaway, First Winner Announced

Dubai has announced the first winner of its citywide homeownership-themed retail promotion, Win Your Home in Dubai, awarding a studio apartment to an eligible shopper during the campaign’s initial live draw.

The announcement comes as the emirate continues to use major retail and mall activations to stimulate footfall and consumer engagement across the summer season. While similar promotions are common in the region, this one is positioned specifically around residential ownership, with a schedule of weekly and final draws running through late August.

    First studio apartment winner named

According to the campaign organizers, Aysha Ameer, a 27-year-old business consultant and an Indian expat resident in Dubai, was named the first winner. The draw took place during a live ceremony at Dubai Festival City Mall, where hundreds of shoppers attended.

Ameer won a studio apartment from a pool of 12 residential units offered across Dubai. The initiative is jointly led by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), which operates under the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), and Dubai Chambers.

    Who is behind the initiative

DFRE is responsible for developing Dubai’s retail and festival sectors and for supporting Dubai’s tourism positioning through year-round events and family entertainment. Dubai Chambers, a non-profit entity focused on strengthening business networks and value-added services, also supports the campaign as part of broader emirate-level engagement efforts.

How the “spend to enter” mechanic works

The promotion is designed around consumer participation through retail spending. Eligible residents and visitors aged 18 and above can enter by spending AED 500 at participating brands located across more than 3,500 retail outlets in Dubai, according to the campaign details.

After spending, shoppers validate their entry by scanning a QR code available on official campaign materials at participating locations and uploading their receipt. The organizers state the campaign includes participation from 1,000+ brands.

Retail promotions as a demand engine

From a business perspective, this structure ties consumer activity to tangible, high-value rewards, a method often used to boost conversion during retail cycles. For retailers and mall operators, these promotions can increase traffic and basket size, while for consumers, the value proposition depends on clear eligibility rules and transparent draw scheduling.

In Dubai’s retail ecosystem, where competition for footfall remains intense across malls and shopping destinations, campaigns of this type also function as marketing platforms, encouraging shoppers to consolidate spending within participating outlets.

Draw schedule and what’s at stake

The first draw was followed by a series of weekly events. Organizers said the next weekly draws are scheduled for 28 June, with further dates on 5, 12, 19 and 26 July, and then 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 August.

The campaign mechanics described indicate that the next 10 draws will each award a studio apartment. The final draw on 30 August will award a two-bedroom apartment, making that date the most significant in the prize ladder.

    Event format at participating malls

The campaign’s launch event at Dubai Festival City Mall also included on-site activities and digital games, with additional instant-win prizes distributed to attendees. Organizers said 20 shoppers won prizes during the first draw day, alongside games such as fast-reaction challenges and memory tests.

These elements reflect a common trend in large-scale retail promotions: pairing the draw itself with live engagement to sustain attention and improve the shopping experience for participants and non-participants alike.

Why the campaign matters for homeownership messaging

Although the initiative is structured as a retail promotion, its headline theme is linked to homeownership. That framing can be particularly relevant in markets where housing affordability, rental dynamics, and buyer confidence are closely tracked by consumers and analysts.

For stakeholders, the practical impact may depend on how the giveaway is perceived relative to broader housing costs and availability. While the campaign provides a direct prize for a limited number of winners, it also contributes to the public conversation around residential access and the role of consumer ecosystems in creating aspirational offers.

As the campaign progresses, market observers will likely focus on two areas: whether participation remains broad across Dubai’s retail footprint, and how consistently the organizers execute the draw schedule through the remaining draw dates.

    Where to follow updates

Organizers directed shoppers to WinYourHomeInDubai.com for campaign information and eligibility details. The promotion runs until 30 August.

For media queries, DFRE shared an email contact address as part of the campaign’s communications.
