Bitget has rolled out two upgrades to its contract-for-differences trading platform, aiming to reduce the friction between analyzing markets and placing trades. The changes introduce an integrated copy trading experience on the chart interface and a new tiered margin system that ties required margin to total account exposure across leveraged CFD markets.

    Key takeaways

    • What’s changing: Bitget added integrated copy trading directly within the candlestick chart view and created a dedicated module to manage copied positions.
    • Margin framework: The platform moved to a tiered margin model based on an account’s total notional exposure, rather than applying a fixed margin approach.
    • Operational goal: Bitget says the upgrades streamline workflows for traders who move between multiple CFD asset classes.
    • Risk positioning: Higher exposure is designed to fall into higher margin tiers intended to better reflect risk.

What Bitget changed in copy trading

According to Bitget, the copy trading upgrade places a “Popular Traders” section directly on the candlestick chart page for each supported CFD asset. The intent is to let users discover strategies with strong recent results on the specific market they are viewing, without switching to a separate copy trading interface.

Bitget said each trader profile includes comparison metrics such as 30-day returns and copier activity, enabling users to review performance and engagement before following. If the system does not find traders that match the user’s selection criteria for that specific instrument, Bitget directs users to a broader copy trading leaderboard rather than leaving the selection area empty.

New module for managing copied positions

Bitget also introduced a “Copy Trading Positions” module inside the CFD trading interface. The platform said the feature separates copied positions from manually opened trades and organizes holdings by the trader each user is following.

To improve visibility into portfolio performance across multiple strategies, Bitget said users can sort copied positions by unrealized profit and loss or by position value from a single page. The update is designed to make it easier to monitor how different copied strategies contribute to account-level results, particularly when trading across several leveraged instruments.

    Dynamic, exposure-based margin system

Alongside the interface upgrades, Bitget adopted a tiered margin system for its CFD platform. Under the new approach, required margin is calculated based on the total notional exposure of an account. Bitget said lower exposure tiers continue to receive lower margin requirements, while accounts with larger positions are gradually moved into higher tiers.

Bitget said the tiering is intended to align margin obligations more closely with risk as exposure increases, replacing a fixed margin model that could require the same capital level regardless of position size.

The company also noted that predefined margin ratios apply during the 30 minutes before market close and after market open across supported CFD instruments. Bitget framed this as a mechanism to account for periods when market volatility may rise around trading transitions.

Bigger picture for multi-asset CFD trading

Bitget said the release expands its multi-asset trading infrastructure while continuing to operate a unified environment that includes cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks, commodities, foreign exchange, and precious metals. By consolidating trade execution tools and tying capital requirements to exposure tiers, the upgrades are designed to support traders who diversify across multiple markets and want clearer portfolio management within one workflow.

For investors and active traders, the practical impact is twofold: faster access to copy trading signals at the point of chart analysis, and a margin design that may better reflect how leverage risk scales with overall position size. The changes also suggest a continued shift toward more integrated trading experiences, where portfolio monitoring and strategy selection are handled within the same interface rather than across separate tools.

Bitget did not provide specific adoption metrics or performance outcomes in the announcement. Traders using Bitget’s CFD platform may want to review how their existing margin settings translate into the new tiered system—especially around times when predefined margin ratios apply near market open and close—and monitor how copy trading position tracking behaves for their multi-strategy portfolios after the update.
